Winelands, South Africa

by Eve Andersson

Home : South Africa : One Article
The winelands of South Africa feel quite European, with charming towns nestled among green, rolling hills. The three dominant wine regions in South Africa are Paarl, Stellenbosch, and Franschhoek; all three produce world-class wines. The country's "signature" varietal, Pinotage, is full-flavored and fruity -- often wonderful but a bit of an acquired taste. South Africa also makes excellent Shirazes and other varietals as well.

Spier Winery

Spier is one of the larger wineries in South Africa. The grounds contain many family activities, including the cheetah outreach program.
