Pi is an irrational number. Therefore it cannot be exactly 22/7 because it would then be rational. A rational number is a number that can be written as a ratio of two integers or as a fraction.
The ratio of the circumference of a circle to the diameter of the same circle equals pi.
Pi is approximately 22/7 and approximately 3.14.
